The Settlement and Wall Resistance Commission said that the Israeli occupation authorities and settlers carried out 1,197 attacks against Palestinians during last October.
The commission clarified in its monthly report that these attacks were concentrated in the Hebron governorate with 224 attacks, followed by the Nablus governorate with 220 attacks, and then the Ramallah governorate with 201 attacks, as they are the areas surrounded by settlements considered the most extremist and fierce, and the home of extremist Israeli settlers’ groups.
The head of the commission, Muayyad Shaaban, said that "the number of attacks carried out by settlers reached a record number during the past month, with 254 attacks, compared to the previous months, and that these attacks were concentrated in the Nablus governorate with 111 attacks, and the Ramallah governorate with 50 attacks.
He explained that the occupation authorities issued 12 notices, ranging from demolition notices, halting construction, or evacuating Palestinian facilities on the pretext of non-licensing, most of which were concentrated in the governorates of Qalqilya and Tubas.
Shaaban pointed out that the demolitions carried out by the occupation forces amounted to 28 demolitions against 43 homes, commercial establishments, and a source of livelihood. These operations were concentrated in the Hebron Governorate, in which 22 facilities were demolished, the Ramallah Governorate, in which 10 facilities were demolished, and the City of Jerusalem, in which 6 facilities were demolished.
Shaaban added, "The report monitors that 1584 trees were damaged or uprooted by settlers, all of them were olive trees. These operations were concentrated in the Nablus governorate with 950 trees, the Hebron governorate with 408 trees, and the Tubas governorate with 100 trees."
The report indicated that the occupation authorities seized a total of 616 dunums of Palestinian lands and transferred them to areas belonging to the "Eli" settlement, which is located on Palestinian lands in the villages of Al-Sawiya, Al-Luban and Qaryut in the Nablus governorate.
The report stated that this area had previously been seized by declaring it state land, and now it is being transferred to areas of settlement expansion.
The report also indicated that the occupation authorities deposited and approved 11 new colonial plans last October, in order to expand the settlements and change the areas of use of some lands inside them.
Shaaban warned of the consequences of the intensive campaign of incitement led by the extremist settlers in the recent past against the Commission, its president and cadres, and their repeated calls through Israeli newspapers and websites that the occupation army forces direct fire on the commission’s president, cadres and popular resistance activists.
